Community Guidelines
Zenlit is for meeting people near you. These guidelines keep it safe and respectful. They apply to everything on Zenlit: profiles, usernames, photos, posts, captions, messages and links.
They are part of the Terms of Use, which also list the content Indian law doesn’t allow.
1. Be real
- Zenlit is for adults aged 18 and over. Use one account, in your own identity, with your real date of birth.
- Don’t pretend to be another person, a brand or an organisation.
- If you add a profile photo, use one of yourself.
- Don’t fake your location. Radar only works if everyone nearby really is nearby.
2. Respect people
- No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation.
- No hate: don’t attack or demean anyone because of their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
- No unwanted sexual messages or advances.
- If someone declines your message request or stops replying, leave it there.
- Never use Radar or chats to follow someone, track where they are or turn up uninvited.
3. Keep it safe
- No nudity, pornography or sexual content in photos, captions or messages.
- Nothing that sexualises, exploits or endangers children, ever. We remove it, delete the account and report it to the authorities.
- No graphic violence, and don’t encourage anyone to hurt themselves or others.
- No selling or promoting illegal goods or services, such as drugs or weapons, and no gambling, betting or online games that aren’t permitted in India.
- No scams, fraud, money laundering or asking people for money.
- No spam, advertising or selling, and no links to malware or harmful sites.
4. Child safety
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) are prohibited on Zenlit, with zero tolerance. This covers anyone under 18, anywhere on Zenlit.
- Never share, ask for or link to sexual images or videos of anyone under 18, including drawn, edited or AI-made ones.
- No grooming: don’t befriend, message or pressure anyone under 18 for sexual purposes, or try to meet them for that reason.
- No sexualised content, comments or role-play involving anyone under 18, and no sexual threats or blackmail against them.
When we find it or it is reported to us:
- We remove the content and delete the account that shared it.
- We preserve the evidence the law requires.
- We report it to the authorities in India through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (https://cybercrime.gov.in), and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.
To report it, use Report on the profile, post, message or conversation, or email app.zenlit@gmail.com. Please also tell us if you think someone on Zenlit is under 18. If a child is in danger, call 112 or the child helpline 1098.
Child safety point of contact: Arjun Gowda L, Grievance Officer, app.zenlit@gmail.com.
5. Respect privacy
- Don’t share anyone’s personal details, such as their phone number, address, workplace or whereabouts, without their permission.
- Never share intimate photos or videos of anyone without their consent.
- Don’t post photos of other people without their permission.
- Don’t share screenshots of private chats to embarrass or expose someone. You can still use them to report abuse.
6. Be honest
- Don’t knowingly spread false or misleading information.
- Don’t pass off AI-made or edited photos as real. If a realistic photo was made or changed with AI, say so in the caption. No deepfakes of real people.
- Only share photos and words that are yours or that you have permission to use.
7. Meeting in person
- Meet in a busy public place.
- Tell a friend where you’re going.
- Keep chats in Zenlit at first, before sharing your number.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave, and block or report.
Zenlit can’t verify who people are or where they are. If you are in danger, call 112.
8. Reporting and blocking
Report a profile, post or message from its menu, or a whole conversation from its options. The person you report isn’t told who reported them. Please don’t use reports to harass others.
Blocking hides you from each other everywhere on Zenlit, and the other person isn’t notified. You can unblock anyone from Settings → Blocked accounts.
Anyone, including people without a Zenlit account, can also report content to app.zenlit@gmail.com, for example if their photo was shared without consent.
9. What happens when rules are broken
The operator reviews every report. Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, restrict the account (it then can’t use Radar, the Feed or Messages) or delete the account. Where the law requires, we report offences to the authorities.
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 days. We act on requests to remove content that breaks these rules within 36 hours, and remove intimate images shared without consent, or content impersonating someone, within 2 hours of a complaint.
If you think we got it wrong, appeal through Help → Contact support (restricted accounts see Appeal account restriction). If you are still not satisfied, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days at https://gac.gov.in.
10. Changes to these guidelines
We’ll announce changes in the app before they take effect, and for important changes we’ll ask you to accept the updated guidelines. The version and effective date are shown at the top.
