Account deletion
You can delete your Zenlit account and its data at any time. Zenlit is run by Arjun Gowda L, Mysuru, Karnataka, India.
Your account closes the moment you confirm the code: you are signed out everywhere and hidden from Radar and the Feed. Your data is normally removed within moments. If that is interrupted, an automatic job finishes it, usually within about half an hour.
Deletion can’t be undone. Some records are kept for the periods listed below. Uninstalling the app doesn’t delete your account.
Delete in the app or on the web
Sign in to Zenlit in the Android app, or at https://app.zenlit.in in a browser. Then:
- Go to Profile and open the menu at the top.
- Choose Settings, then Account, then Delete account.
- Choose Delete my account, then Send verification code.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email you and choose Delete my account.
Your account closes as soon as the code is confirmed. Your data is normally removed within moments.
Delete by email
If you can’t sign in, email app.zenlit@gmail.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it, or use the Support form on the sign-in screen. We may ask you to confirm it’s you.
What is deleted
- Your account, profile, posts, photos, location, drafts, blocks and settings.
- The text of messages you sent. The other person sees “Deleted account” in the chat once that’s done.
- Feedback and support requests you sent while signed in.
What we keep, and for how long
- Your username is held for 30 days so nobody else can take it and pretend to be you.
- A minimal record of your registration (email address, sign-in method, username, and the dates you joined and left) is kept for 180 days because Indian law requires it, and is used for nothing else.
- Reports are kept for up to 2 years after we receive them. Reports you made are no longer linked to your account. Reports about you keep only the reason and date, not the reported content.
- Support requests sent while signed out, including a request to delete by email, are kept for up to 2 years.
- Content we removed because it was unlawful or because of a court or government order is preserved with its records for 180 days, or longer if a court or authorised agency asks, for investigation.
- Backups expire within 30 days, and our hosting providers’ technical logs within the short periods the providers set.
Each is deleted at the end of its period. The Privacy Notice has the full details.
